Math Daily 3 Posters
This school year I plan on incorporating Math Daily 3 into my math block. I love the Daily 5 for literacy and I am excited to start the math portion. To kick things off I created 3 posters: Math by Myself, Math with Someone, and Math Writing. I plan on displaying these posters on the wall and putting the names of each game I introduce under one of the headings. This way students can quickly and easily see the different games they can choose from during independent math block. You can grab a copy of these posters at my TPT store. Thanks for stopping by!

Star Students
I like to have a Star Student each week to recognize and get to know each student. Each day the "Star Student" gets about 5-10 minutes to share information about themselves. My freebie today is the Star Student paper that goes home on Friday and is returned on Monday. The "All About Me" poster that I use came from Oriental Trader. I have been doing this for about four years now and the students and I absolutely love it and look forward to it. You can grab a free copy at my TPT store! Thanks for stopping by!

Math Bump Stars Wars Style!
I made it through the first day of school! Yay! I have such a sweet group of firsties and I'm looking forward to a great year! I started the day with Whole Brain Teaching and it was AMAZING! If you haven't heard of it or tried it yet then you totally need to look into it! I was really nervous about it, but my firsties responded so well to it. I watched a ton of youtube videos on WBT and read the book by Chris Biffle. It is such a powerful book and an easy read.
Math Bump Star Wars Style
These Bump Games are a huge hit with my first graders! They are great for practicing early addition and subtraction skills. All playing directions are on each game board for easy use. The game boards are intended for partner play, but could be used for up to 4 players. 1-3 dice (depending on the game of choice) and 10 colored game markers, like Unifix Cubes, are needed for each player.
I have included two different styles of galaxy clipart for added fun. Each set has six different game boards and ways to play. You just have to choose the skill you want your students to focus on. This is a great option for differentiation.
The skills that are included are:
• Adding 2 Dice
• Dice Doubles
• Dice Doubles +1
• Dice Doubles -1
• Roll Dice and Add 10
• Adding 3 Dice

Math Freebie!
Tomorrow is my first day of school and I'm so nervous excited! I have been running around like a crazy woman today trying to get all my last minute finishing touches complete!
Tomorrow I plan on playing Addition Yahtzee with my firsties. The amazing Shari Sloane from kidscount1234 created Kindergarten Yahtzee and I just changed it up to Addition Yahtzee so any grade can use it. I have also printed the directions on each sheet. This is such a great addition game to use for independent or partner math work. You can grab a FREE copy of Addition Yahtzee in my TPT store! Have fun and game on! Thanks for stopping by!

New School Year, New Blog!
First of all, I'm really excited to finally join the blogging world! I have been meaning to start this for a long time and have finally made it happen! This will be my 7th year teaching first grade and I am ready to start this school year off on the right foot. My first day of school is tomorrow and the kids start on Tuesday, so first up is 1st Day Selfie! 1st Day Selfie can be used a couple of different ways. Students could either draw a self-portrait in the frame provided or you could print student pictures in the frame. I plan on having my students take a "selfie" and then post their pictures in the frames. This will go on display in our hallway for Open House. I have included frames for boys and girls that include two different captions, "First Day Selfie" and "Check Out My Selfie," and a blank one. I think my students are going to get a kick out of this! You can click on the picture to grab a copy for yourself at my TPT store. I'll send a copy of 1st Day Selfies to the first 2 people who comment on this post!
I will be posting classroom pictures soon!
Thanks for stopping by!!
