Subtraction Roll & Cover

Today my firsties practiced subtraction facts with a new little game, Subtraction Roll & Cover! Let me tell you, it was a hit! Subtraction is normally such a scary concept for most of my first-graders, but today with this game their worries were over! I really push adding totals of 10 in my classroom. I think it is so important for kids to know their totals to 10. With this game, students start at 10, roll the die, and subtract that number from 10. The first player to fill their card wins! This is a quick and easy game that helps reinforce numbers that total to 10. The kids really loved the fun table scatter and erasers they got to use to cover their cards. This way the game goes with any season and is always in style! Gotta love Dollar Tree! If you're interested in picking up Subtraction Roll & Cover, then just head on over to my TPT store!

Looking Handsome, George Washington

I am super excited about my newest creation! Isn't old George handsome? This month my first-graders are learning about presidents and how to write a biography. This week we are focusing on George Washington and I came up with this nifty little writing template to go along with the craftivity! I have included a couple different writing formats to choose from. If you are interested in this writing craftivity, you can check it out at my TPT store!
Have a fantastic day!!

Little Red Hen Craftivity and Writing

Here Comes The Little Red Hen!

Isn't she cute?!?!  I love the story of The Little Red Hen and decided to make a cute little craftivity to go along with it.  I added some opinion writing prompts and blank writing pages as well.  The orange hen goes with a second craftivity option.  Color and sight words are so important for Kindergarten and first graders, so I created "This is my little (color word) hen."  Students will fill in a color word and sight words.  I have included blank templates to go along with both writing options.

Math Daily 3 Posters

This school year I plan on incorporating Math Daily 3 into my math block.  I love the Daily 5 for literacy and I am excited to start the math portion.  To kick things off I created 3 posters: Math by Myself, Math with Someone, and Math Writing.  I plan on displaying these posters on the wall and putting the names of each game I introduce under one of the headings.  This way students can quickly and easily see the different games they can choose from during independent math block.  You can grab a copy of these posters at my TPT store.  Thanks for stopping by!
